The #slowdeco trend goes into more homes every day and no wonder, who does not want a cozy, lively, warm and homely house? The philosophy #slowlife advocates living life more slowly, enjoying every little moment and savoring the small daily pleasures. That is why, in order to have a slow home, a series of very simple key points should be applied to foster the housing-dwellers relationship, so that it becomes a home-dwelling relationship.
Here I give you some simple guidelines for decorating a slow home:
The more open you get to distribute the spaces better, this will favor the cross-relationships between different activities and people.
POWER TO THE MAXIMUM NATURAL LIGHT
Make the most of the natural light that enters each window and learn to control it (with curtains, blinds …) according to the time of day and activity to be performed. For example, my mother has the healthy habit after eating to close the curtains and lower the blinds a little, she calls it “make napping”.
DECOR WITH PERSONAL OBJECTS
A slow home gives off personality for every corner, you have to see a house “lived” and surrounded by stories. For this, to decorate with recycled wood, old objects or memories of trips is the key for your house to give life.
I think there is no post about environments and styles in which I do not recommend decorating with plants. But it seems to me that they are fundamental to any welcoming atmosphere that prevails.
Do not be afraid to mix different types of textiles, linen for summer and wool for winter.
The small touches of rustic style can also help us when decorating a slow home. The rustic style reminds us of the country, the calm and the holidays in the mountains, what’s more slow than that ?!
LIVE YOUR HOUSE
But here is the key to a slow home: you have to live it. Have breakfast in bed, organize special meals, cook and let the house smell of fresh food, that is the basis of a slow home, enjoy a slow life living every little moment.
